Our Christmas Break

Leading up to Christmas was fun in the city. There were tree lightings almost every night, the houses go all out in the city, lots of activities for church, and because the boys were so busy with finals, it meant us girls went out to eat and went for ice cream a lot! Every holiday here is so fun!

We were in Southern California for the holidays, but first we celebrated Madison and Brayden getting married! They were married on December 19th in the Newport Temple, followed with a reception held in the Zylstra's backyard. It happened to be a downpour during the reception, but we had tents and it was still beautiful! It added to the memories. :)

It was lots of fun to have all of Tanner's family in town, especially his aunt and uncle who live in Hawaii! We have the best of times with them...especially when we share a double bed!

One day at the mall, we ran into a real life pig...on a leash!

We went to the Newport boat show one evening, and followed it with some hot cocoa. It was fun! Some people go all out.

On Christmas Eve we headed to Newport Beach for breakfast and a bike ride to celebrate our friend Kristen's birthday!

The rest of the day was filled with wrapping presents and spending time with the family!

We took a couple trips to Disney (of course!)

We got to attend a Laker game

New Year's Eve was celebrated with dinner at Lucille's, and followed by games, dessert, and plenty of Martinelli's back at home.

On New Year's Day, we walked around the Rose Parade, and then walked around Venice beach. I even got a selfie with Bachelor Ben, and a girl who cut me in line... :/

isn't this sunset amazing!?

Brimley and Scott met us there for the evening, and it was so fun to see them!

We were originally going to leave New Year's Day, or the day following, but we couldn't get ourselves to leave! So we spent another day with my in-laws, Logan and Whitney, and were so happy we did. We got to enjoy another beautiful sunset on the bay.

On our drive home, we couldn't get over how green Northern California suddenly was! And then, we saw a little turn off named "Lover's Lane" and totally had to go. I love long drives with my love!

Christmas Break was super relaxing, and everything we needed. It was sure hard to go back to school and work!

THREE

We turned Three on Monday! I can't believe we've been married for three years-time has gone by so fast. There isn't anyone more perfect for me. I love my Tanner!

Taylor Swift

My in laws had tickets to Taylor Swift on Saturday, and I couldn't pass up that opportunity to go! It was just going to be me alone, but unfortunately we found out that Opa needs to start chemo again on Tuesday. We were going to drive to see him in Santa Barbara on Sunday, and when Tanner heard this, we bought him tickets right away. It was last minute, and a little hectic flying into different airports and at different ones from the city, but we pulled off a great surprise with the siblings! It was so worth seeing Opas face as well. Him and Tanner have the best bond, and he was so happy to see him. I think I saw him even less than normal because we were doing lots of wedding fun (yay Madison!) and he still studied every hour... even had his laptop in the car at all times. He's super dedicated and that's why I love him so much!

The girls got to go to breakfast followed by dress shopping, and wedding dresses are just soooo pretty! It was a little difficult trying to find dresses that would work for a temple wedding, but I think we found the right style! It's so exciting. We went to BJ's for dinner because that's Tanners favorite place, and his birthday is this week. We then headed to the concert which was a blast! Taylor (we are on a first name basis...) has gotten a tonnnnn better at singing live and dancing. She knows how to put on a good show!! It was a fun and crazy weekend, but it was nice to get away from all of the sirens and homeless for a weekend! :)

We (my fault) had a problem forwarding our previous mail to SF, and instead I forwarded all of the Zylstra's Mail... so I got to catch up on some gossip, while watching Seinfeld, and drinking ginger ale, since we had the craziest and smelliest uber driver on our way there,

I was greeted with a cafe rio salad and dr. pepper with lots of limes... I love them.

dinner

concert time!

I took mostly videos, but here is our girl! (if you follow me on snapchat: @fryry1014 you probably got really annoyed of me!)

we also had the pleasure of having Mary j blige and a couple other celebrities come out and perform with her. but Mary and her were awesome!!!

we love them.
