As a family, we have learned that it doesn't matter how much we make, if we have cereal for dinner, what other couples and families get to do, or if I'm late to work because I take Tanner to school. Because to be honest, I'd rather spend 5 extra minutes with my best friend, then 5 minutes in my quiet office. That would make me happy, and I need to work more on making me happy. I've started to realize that friends come and go, and your relationships with others change. That's all about growing up, but change is hard. Man, it is so hard! Tanner and I always laugh after we are having a hard time, or become frustrated about something, because at the end of the day, we know we have each other, and that's all that matters. I guess I've just really started to realize what is truly important in life.
Yesterday, we decided to write a new quote on the chalkboard, and we both agreed on the one below: "Whatever you are, be a GOOD one." I love that. It doesn't matter who you are, as long as you're doing good, and making yourself happy. That's what life is about, and there's no greater reminder than having it posted in your house!
There's nothing better to make you happy, than spending a full week with family. We are lucky to have families that live so close, and are happy to make the trip to visit us. I can't wait to watch the LDS General Conference this weekend with the ones I love, and listen to our prophets voice! I invite all to watch it with me, because it will make you happy. Every session I watch, I am amazed that there is something spoken that is meant for me, and is an answer to my prayers.
